At the end of August Paul and I spent a week on Saturna Island with our family. Saturna Island is one of the Southern Gulf Islands. It is situated midway between the Lower Mainland of B.C. and Vancouver Island. We rented at a wonderful home in Winter Cove called Saturna Seaside. The home was so well equipped. There were kayaks, bikes, a canoe, outdoor games, a ping-pong table and a pool table. Although there was no TV reception or Wifi, there were hundreds of DVD’s and board games. It was wonderful having time with family, unplugged from the rest of the world.
We had incredible weather and were able to kayak every day and do lots of hiking. We saw pods of killer whales on four different days, watched a sea lion catch a salmon and witnessed some of the most spectacular sunsets I have ever seen on the west coast.
Here are a few images from our Saturna adventure.
